Do you believe?

I don't want this to be a theological debate. I would prefer if it were kept very general and that we respect other's rights to their beliefs. That means no arguments. I am interested, though, in who believes in life after death. It doesn't have to be judaio Christianity. It can be reincarnation, ghosts, ...anything. Do you believe that there is something after our body passes on? You can just say "yes" or "no" or go into a bit of detail, but please stick to your own belief and don't criticize someone else's.

Do you believe?

This life is just a dress-rehersal of what is to come after......

I believe that there is life after death.

If people do good, their life after death would be heaven.

If people do bad, their life after death would be hell.

i do believe that Jesus will come back to life and that when he does....that would be a sign that life is about to end.

I also believe in this......(its kind of creepy to me but here it goes..).... the sun can go up north, east, west, and south depending on where you live. And if one day, you notice that the sun goes up the opposite way of where it used to be, that will be that last day that there would be life on Earth and every body and every thing will die out or vanish and the whole solar system explodes.

i'll tell the rest later....

I believe we are all created in God's image and we are here to serve.

I believe our lives are on purpose and there is a plan and was from the beginning.

I also believe God created us with a great capacity to love and be loved and we live more richly when we are loved and when we love.....

And YES, I believe in eternal life and life after death.

Yes.

Life after death is certain.

It's the way we (our souls) can grow and learn what is good
and what is bad.

Let's say you kill (a very bad thing) someone in this life,
then you will, in your next life, at one point, be the victim
of a murderer.

Just so you will understand that killing other beings is
not a good thing.

This is what I am certain off.

Pay attention to other beings around you and be kind.

Life after death is nothing but an intense wish that it will not just be one life, and nothing more.

There has not been anybody that have died and then come back to life to tell how it was on the other side, or if there is another side. This is facts.

To believe in God or any other religion makes human being more human, while we are alive and life more easy for those who need a hand to hold through life.

I'll say: If God exists, or if there is a life after death, I will not deny it. But then I need proof, not just statements. Otherwise, I will have to wait to get the true answer, until after the moment of death.

Homo sapiens is such a small creature in the Universe - and there are a many, many universe out there.

I agree with Night Train: "Quantum physics holds the key to all the secrets."

body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting
"...holy cow...what a ride!"

Have spoke my piece.... But I have to say I love this!

Does that mean St. Peter will be covered in heavenly dust.........

I am so very grateful for HIS forgiveness!!!!!!

Personally, I believe DNA to be absolute proof of a creator. As far as life after death.....we can't explain life and yet here we are. We cannot create even create the most basic amino acid chain yet WE live. All we can do is quantify/predict/postulate based on observation. I don't need to and cannot possibly explain death. I'll see it soon enough. It will be different. Will it be the end of existence? I believe the laws of conservation prohibit that.

What I do believe is in God. It's amazing that the Jews, Chrisitans and Muslims ALL believe in the same God and just can't agree on his representative. All three believe in "heaven" (and the other reward) I'm with them.

Quite right. Born into the church as a preacher's kid, went out into the world as a rebelious youth, compared what the two offered and made up my own mind based on my own experiences. The Bible is the true Word of God, Jesus did die for our sins, the Holy Spirit is the ultimate comforter and friend. You may disagree, but that is your choice. The choice we all have to make.
Choose wisely! There is no makeup test.

I do not believe in heaven or hell as being our final destination.
Heaven and hell are here on earth....right here, right now. It can be heaven...or someone else can make it hell, because who in their right mind would choose that alternative.

Right now, for me, it's hell....so let the next plane of existence be a vast improvement on this one.

Yes, I believe there's some form of conscious life in the hereafter, but not necessarily in any traditional sense.
Our life's energy, soul, if you like, transcends....but to where exactly, I'm not sure and lack the experience to proffer a viable suggestion.

There is, however, another way in which we live on, and that's through our handed down knowledge and achievements: and more importantly, through our children. Whatever we were, our human traits and DNA, etc, lives on in all of our descendants....our children, their children, and so on.

And of course, we live on in their memories

Personally, I believe DNA to be absolute proof of a creator.

"I refuse to prove that I exist," says God, "for proof denies faith, and without faith I am nothing."
"Aha," says Man, "but the Babelfish [substitute DNA, biblical miracles, etc] is a dead giveaway, isn't it? It couldn't have evolved by chance. It proves You exist, and so therefore, by Your own arguments, You don't. QED."
"Oh dear," says God, "I hadn't thought of that," and promptly vanishes in a puff of logic.

Life after death...

i don't think its a matter of life after death, i think my/our existance is a process of learning and that learning takes place over many lifetimes. my/our souls come back each time to learn lessons that are predetermind before it returns to this plane. once we have learned these lessons then we can become part of the greater power in the universe. these lessons last as long as the body can survive and if for some resson we don't live long enough we'll come back to try to learn it again.

religion...i know this is dangerous but...

i don't think any religion is compleatly right in there beliefs or we wouldn't have so many to chose from but, i do believe that they all have some things right. karma is one, reincarnation is another and, the importance of loving our fellow humans is a good thing to know how to do. i believe that just believing that there is a power we call god IS important in its self and, that we treat that power with respectful love and devotion not just on a special day or holiday but every minute of every day.

i'll stop here but i could go on and on with this topic. i think i have answerd the question with a good enough reason why i belive what i belive...
