Do you believe?
Published on March 15, 2005 By Sleeping Dragon In WinCustomize Talk
I don't want this to be a theological debate. I would prefer if it were kept very general and that we respect other's rights to their beliefs. That means no arguments. I am interested, though, in who believes in life after death. It doesn't have to be judaio Christianity. It can be reincarnation, ghosts, ...anything. Do you believe that there is something after our body passes on? You can just say "yes" or "no" or go into a bit of detail, but please stick to your own belief and don't criticize someone else's.

Do you believe?

As whith citizen Billman,...been there,..done that,..and still here to tell it(though i really don't like cats....too...feline ) Though having been there already is an advantage not everyone has the luxury of experiancing, it brings an intense sense of clarity to life. I used to agree with the saying 'only in death, we are truely alone',...but i couldn't disagree any more. There is, He is, and it's a wonderfull place.

I believe in life after death.

I believe in God the Father and Jesus the Son and the Holy Ghost.

I believe God created us in his image.

I have faith in the Bible because of things I have witnessed with my own eyes. I have seen the sick healed by the power of touch and prayer. I have heard people talk in tounges and others predict the future. I have seen the power of God move through others and myself.

I believe in eternal life and life after death.

To those that would contest my beliefs: so be it but you shall not hurt my faith.

Weaksid now speaks

I have a dream... Wait, wrong start... Hmmm, I believe.. That's better.

I believe that there is something more powerful then us, why not? If you look at the earth and space, everything is set in a perfect way. Down to the atoms.(Creation is another topic)

I have mix beliefs about our death. We could just turn to dust, go to heaven or hell, reincarnate two different ways (Just directly or the soul splits into two other souls), transfer to another world, or maybe we walk around on earth as a ghost just to watch the rest of the world get older. Personally, I don't care, it's going to happen no matter what I believe. It's a part of life. Once you're dead, you're dead. All you can do is benifit the world you're living in now and help the next generation succeed as much as you can. The main goal of any life form is to survive. Keep in mind, what you do now will effect hundreds, thousands, millions, or billions of people eventually. It's a chain reaction.

Oops, went off topic.

i believe in spirits (although one may say that the collective spirits i speak of are just several faces of god) and in reincarnation and in karma. the two later because they force me to constantly question myself and my actions, and to feel that i will be responsible and feel the effect of all and any actions i take. basically, keeps me on my toes!

"For now we see in a mirror, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know fully even as also I was fully known."

Something to look forward to...

Well energy only transfers so who knows what ours becomes when we die.

Don't believe in any all powerful being controlling anything, but I believe... well not sure really, guess the closest I can put it to is the flow of nature/energy.

Not even sure I believe that either.

Anyway, life after death, I'm doubting it, genetic memory, feels more plausible if not inevitable to happen (cremation etc must mess things up a touch).
